The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently published a final rule, Standards of Performance for Stationary Combustion Turbines (40 CFR Part 60, Subpart KKKKa: 60.4300a) . This subpart applies to owners or operators of a new, modified, or reconstructed stationary combustion turbine.
Among others, affected companies must meet emissions limits based on newly established turbine subcategories, and also comply with technical, operational, and reporting provisions.
The EPA is also amending Standards of Performance for Stationary Combustion Turbines (40 CFR Part 60, Subpart KKKK: 60.4300a) to include an optional subcategory for stationary temporary combustion turbines with the same BSER, NOₓ standards, and recordkeeping and reporting requirements as for the subcategory of stationary temporary combustion turbines.
Additional information on the regulatory development has already been published in our Forecaster service.
Detailed requirements from these Subparts will be published with the US Federal update due on March 31. Specifically, we anticipate:
- Approx. 23 new requirements from Subpart KKKK and
- Approx. 26 requirements from Subpart KKKKa
These requirements must be reviewed and validated to ensure ongoing compliance.
